Plaintiff in this case was a middle-aged man who was traveling in a gondola up a ski slope when the gondola and “towing line” malfunctioned ripping the gondola from one of the lines and leaving it suspended at a severe angle hundreds of feet in the air. A significant number of people on the gondola died or received significant physical and psychological injuries.

After all the other cases settled, the law firm continued to prosecute plaintiff’s case because they believed that the settlement offered to their client was unfair under the circumstances. This strategy worked and plaintiff finally received a fair settlement right before trial.
