Plaintiff was a 40-year-old woman who was driving southbound on Highway 101 outside of San Francisco when another vehicle lost control and flipped over in front of plaintiff. Plaintiff did not have time to stop her vehicle, which plowed into defendant’s truck.
Plaintiff did not suffer any significant physical injury; however she was severely psychologically de-compensated to the point where she was no longer able to work in her position with a start-up company.
Defendants refused to take plaintiff’s injuries seriously since they were strictly psychological, and she retained Winer, Burritt & Scott, LLP. By establishing a reasonable psycho-dynamic mechanism of the injury, and retaining a top-notch expert psychologist, the law firm was able to receive a significant settlement in this difficult injury case.
RESULT:
Settlement on behalf of plaintiff, $300,000
