Beatriz E. Alfaro
Beatriz E. Alfaro is a Senior Associate with Winer, Burritt & Scott, LLP in their Woodland Hills office. Beatriz represents employees throughout California in all aspects of employment litigation, including taking and defending depositions, motion practice, trial preparation and mediations.
She focuses on harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination and sexual abuse cases. For the past 8 years, Beatriz has been representing English and Spanish speaking survivors of different kinds of sexual abuse and sexual harassment, as she is fluent in Spanish. Beatriz has successfully negotiated numerous six and seven figure settlements against private, government and high-profile employers.
Beatriz earned a Bachelor of Arts and graduated summa cum laude from Loyola Marymount University, double majoring in Spanish and Women’s and Gender Studies. While at LMU, she participated in the UCLA Law Fellows program and the Latino Leadership Initiative at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government. Having a passion for promoting diversity and gender equality, Beatriz graduated from UC Davis School of Law, also known as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Hall (King Hall). In 2015, Beatriz externed for Associate Justice Elena J. Duarte at the Third District Court of Appeal (3DCA). Post-graduation, she secured a Civil Rights Fellowship with the California Civil Rights Department (formerly called the Department of Fair Employment and Housing).
Beatriz has been selected to the Southern California Rising Stars list from 2020 to present by Super Lawyers, a designation awarded to the top 2.5% of attorneys in the state under the age of 40. In 2024, Beatriz was named on the Up-and-Coming 100: 2024 Southern California Rising Stars and Up-and-Coming 50: 2024 Women Southern California Rising Stars lists.
