While an associate with another law firm, Winer, Burritt & Scott, LLP, associate Jennifer Prusak was heavily involved in a mass legal action against a municipal housing authority on behalf of hundreds of residents of one of that city’s housing projects. The housing authority, without informing the residents, had exposed them to a number of chemicals proven by scientific literature to be carcinogens over a period of decades.
Ms. Prusak spent months defending individual Plaintiffs’ depositions and in handling written discovery in this massive litigation. The end result of Ms. Prusak’s and her former law firm’s efforts was a settlement on behalf of Plaintiffs that would compensate them for some of the medical expenses they have had to incur as a result of their exposure.
