Plaintiff, a young man in his mid-20’s, suffered a psychological breakdown when he discovered that he had been tricked by his fiancée into participating in a national reality TV show.
Defendant producers of the TV show attempted to deflect blame from themselves onto plaintiff’s fiancée, who was the one who tricked plaintiff into participating in the show.
Winer, Burritt & Scott, LLP, took the position that it was not being tricked into participating in the TV show which harmed plaintiff, but rather the fact that once plaintiff began to severely de-compensate, the producers recognized the fact that plaintiff was psychologically in trouble but failed to come to his aid and provide appropriate care and treatment.
RESULT:
Pre-litigation settlement on behalf of plaintiff for $250,000
