$225,000 – Bay Area Police Officer Brings Suit for Retaliation

Winer, Burritt & Scott, LLP represented a female police officer in a retaliation claim against a Bay Area Police Department. Plaintiff had previously complained about discrimination in the workplace and alleged she was now being subjected to retaliation for those complaints. The police department claimed their actions were justified responses to alleged performance issues of Plaintiff. Winer, Burritt & Scott, LLP engaged in extensive discovery which showed that these performance issues either did not exist, or that others were not subject to the same actions by the police department under similar circumstances.
